???? Wild Virgin CHAPTER FORTY: ????
Four Days Later.
It was Laura’s father’s birthday. Laura had woken her father up from his bed with a birthday song.
After Laura sang her father a birthday song she prayed for him and promised him a birthday gift.
When it was 4 pm the people Laura’s dad invited to celebrate with him started coming in.
They sat down on the chairs that had been arranged in the backyard. Laura and Priscilla had organized everything. Priscilla took care of the decoration and Laura helped out during the process.
Everything was beautiful. Laura’s father had hired an MC for the event a day before. Since Laura’s dad trusted his wife’s culinary skills he left the food preparation in her hands. He and Priscilla helped out while his wife was in the kitchen though.
Louis and his family weren’t left out. Lillian chuckled when her eyes caught sight of the decorations.
“Wooww”
Lillian exclaimed.
Some minutes later the event started with a prayer from Louis’s dad. Laura’s father had asked him to start the opening prayer. After Laura’s father ended the opening prayer and returned to his seat the MC began his work. Everybody almost laughed their chest out at the jokes the MC pulled.
Only Louis felt left out. He kept on stretching his neck in search of Laura. He was worried she had not come out. He couldn’t wait to see her face.
Laura was in Priscilla’s room making her up. She suggested the gown Priscilla wore. She wanted Priscilla to look good and attractive because she was certain the private investigator would come with his father. She knew Priscilla still loved Zion. However, she wasn’t sure things would work out because Priscilla had told her Zion was married.
When Laura was through applying the cosmetic on Priscilla’s face. Priscilla looked at herself in the mirror. She felt shy about the way she looked.
“Lolita, don’t you think I should clean the makeup a bit? I look like the celebrant .”
“Nope. It’s better this way. You don’t know if Zion will come. Don’t you want him to see you elegant?”
“I would love him to see me looking elegant but it’s of no use. Zion is happily married and I wouldn’t like to break his happy home.”
Priscilla sighed.
“Okay if you aren’t going to look good for Zion look good for Zion junior.”
Laura caressed Priscilla’s cheek.
“Wait, Laura. What if the private investigator isn’t my son after all?
What if I’m mistaken?”
Priscilla asked at once.
“Ohh Priscil I thought we’ve talked about this. Moreover, I told you the other day that the private investigator’s surname was the same as Zion’s. Is that a coincidence too?”
Priscilla sighed and kept mute.
“Let’s go already. Dad and mom must be wondering what we are still doing in the room besides I can’t wait to see Louis. Am sure he’s here already.”
Laura held her nanny’s hands and they went out of the room to the backyard.
Laura sat down beside Louis and Louis held her hands.
“You look stunning.”
Louis complimented Laura.
“Thank you.”.
Laura replied with a smile on her face.
Priscilla was nervous when a car horn at the gate. Her instinct told her it was the private investigator and his father. She felt her heart sprinting at the thought of seeing Zion again.
The fear of rejection crept in at the next moment and she felt uneased.
She told Laura she needed to use the rest room and she dashed into her room.
Priscilla spoke to herself in the mirror countless times. She feared she didn’t have the courage to see Zion again.
The fear of the unknown was killing her. It took her some minutes of speaking to herself in the mirror before she braced up and went out.
By then Zion and Kenneth had arrived. Kenneth introduced his dad to Laura and Laura welcomed his dad. Louis felt jealous when Laura was laughing with Kenneth. He felt Kenneth was stealing his time with Laura.
He frowned at Laura when she sat down after talking with the private investigator and his dad.
“Jealousy.”
Laura teased.
The two were laughing when Priscilla came out.
Laura stared at Priscilla. She knew Priscilla was nervous and she understood her very well. It wasn’t easy being in her shoe. She felt for Priscilla.
Priscilla forced a smile when she saw the private investigator sitting down beside his father.
She walked with her face bowed down she was scared of looking at the private investigator’s father’s face.
Even though she had anticipated for the moment she felt nervous.
Laura gave Priscilla the “I don’t agree look.” When Priscilla wanted to seat at the back. Far away from The private investigator and his father.
She smiled at Priscilla and stood up.
“Common mom. Please don’t chicken out now.”
Laura whispered into Priscilla’s ears.
Zion exclaimed “wow” when he caught sight of Priscilla. He had been carried away with the Mc jokes.
He didn’t recognize Priscilla from afar due to her makeup. Moreover, it was a long time he had seen Priscilla and she had changed a bit.
If anyone told Zion Priscilla was Laura’s nanny he would bet his life it wasn’t her. He thought Priscilla was happily married with kids.
“Sir. Meet my second mom Priscilla .”
Laura introduced Priscilla to Zion after she called him aside in a courteous manner.
Priscilla flickered when her eyes and Zion’s met in an enclosed space. Zion’s face had changed too but his voice was still the same except it had thickened than before.
Priscilla shook her head when she saw the pendant on Zion’s neck.
Zion was gifted the pendant by his mom. He wore it whenever he wanted to attend an event.
“Good afternoon ma’am.”
Zion held Priscilla’s hands with uncertainty in his mind.
He felt his heart shouting” it’s Priscilla man It’s Priscilla the owner of the key to your soul.”
“Priscilla what please?”
Zion’s father asked impulsively.
Priscilla kept mute and turned her gaze to Laura.
“Bad manners.”
Zion said forcing a smile.
“Priscilla Flora lewis.”
Laura replied.
Priscilla pinched Laura’s shoulder and Laura wore a satisfactory smile.
“I can’t believe this. It can’t be the Priscilla I have longed for so many days that standing in front of me right now.”
Zion said almost sobbing.
Kenneth felt uncomfortable when he saw his father’s worried look from afar.
He felt something was going on when he saw Priscilla wasn’t looking bright as well.
He left his seat and went to the spot his father was.
“Laura, what’s happening here? Dad, what’s wrong?”
Kenneth asked at once.
Zion shook his head and stared his son in the face.
“How can I tell him Natasha is not his mom? How would he feel if I tell him Priscilla who was my first and only love is the one standing in front of me? Oh, heavens this just isn’t true.”
Zion said within.
“Can’t anyone talk?”
Kenneth asked with a worried look.
“Eermm Sir. Please can you do me a favor?”
Laura asked.
“Of cos ask me anything.”
“Please breathe in and out. We all need to return to our seats. Don’t worry everything will be resolved soon.”
Laura assured the private investigator.
Reluctantly Kenneth went back to his seat and Laura, Zion and Priscilla followed suit.
Later Laura’s father spoke about how excited he was about celebrating his birthday.
He narrated how unhappy he was when Laura wasn’t around. He also made it clear to the audience that his celebration was possible because Laura had come back.
Luckily for Laura Louis wasn’t in his seat when her father was narrating what had happened.
She had not made it known to Louis that she was kidnapped and his parents didn’t either. They were afraid of telling Louis things that would stir hurtful emotions.
When Louis came back from outside. He smiled at Laura and tried to know what she was discussing with Zion. Laura tactically shifted the topic to something else.
She didn’t want to spill the beans to Louis. Moreover, she knew he wouldn’t understand a thing because his mind was beclouded.
After the birthday party was over Laura served the audience the birthday cake. While Priscilla took over the serving of the food. Priscilla felt numb when she offered Zion his portion.
A lot of thoughts were in Zion’s head. He couldn’t believe his eyes. Seeing Priscilla again made him know he had never stopped loving her.
He didn’t know how much he had missed Priscilla until he saw her again. He smiled and told Priscilla “thank you.”
When she served him his portion.
Kenneth on the other hand felt something was going on. The way his father stared at Priscilla was way too obvious. He couldn’t turn a blind eye to it.
After the party was over Laura called the private investigator aside. His face was covered with sweat. He had a lot of thought as to why Laura wanted to speak with him.
“I know you have a lot of thoughts going on in your head as to what happened earlier. I want to assure you there’s nothing to be worried about. Just know some things kept in the dark will be revealed henceforth. I would have love to do the talking but I can’t barge into Priscilla’s and Zion’s privacy. Let them summon the courage and do the talking themselves sir.”
“What secret? What things are kept in the dark? I am afraid I don’t understand a thing.”
“Son”.
Kenneth’s father called him from afar.
Kenneth forced a smile and went closer to his father.
“Father what’s going on?”
Kenneth asked with a stern look.
“I will tell you everything once we reach home son. Please don’t cause a scene here.”
“Atleast tell me who Priscilla is. Why did you react that way when Laura introduced you to each other?
What the hell aren’t you telling me that I should know already.”
“Priscilla is the woman I told you about. My first and only love.”
Zion said impulsively.
“Ohh but why isn’t she married? Why dedicate her whole life to someone else’s child?”
“That’s hers to answer. We need to go now son.”
Zion went out and Kenneth followed reluctantly.
