When we got to our room, he shot the door with force and the sound sent my heart pounding heavily.
Then he stood at the door, blocking it, so I will not be able to run away Incase I decide to run. I quickly glanced around the room, to confirm if there is anyone with him; maybe spirit, demon or ghost. My eyes first went to the mirror and the wardrobe and they have returned back to their position but I saw no one in the room or if there was anyone, maybe they were spirits or ghost that I couldn’t see.
“How can you say I went missing in the middle of the night” Frank asked.
“You went missing! Don’t lie. I know what I’m saying”
“No you don’t know what you are saying. Maybe it’s in your dream that I went missing and then you woke up and ran out of the room” Frank said and started laughing. “So you can fear like this?”
“Please don’t try to confuse me and stop laughing; it’s not funny. You went missing in the middle of the night” I said, almost like a shout.
“I didn’t go missing. I only went to use the toilet and when I came back to bed, I didn’t see you; you were already out of the room. So I started looking for you, only to have found you in our kids room” He said and came closer to me. “Please let’s go to bed, we still have few hours to catch some sleep” He held my waist and walk me to our bed. I refused to get on the bed; I just stood, feeling angry that Frank was trying to confuse me and make me forget what I observed about him.
“Come-on honey! Get on the bed; don’t start now.” Frank said.
“I need to clear my doubt” I said angrily.
“Clear your doubt about what?” He asked.
“About you disappearing in the middle of the night”
“I didn’t disappear or got missing like you said; for goodness sake! I only went to use the toilet” Frank Shouted.
“But when you disappeared or rather left to use the toilet like you claimed; your wardrobe and mirror also disappeared; how come?”
“You are beginning to imagine things right now. How can my wardrobe and mirror disappear? Do they have super powers? Maybe you hallucinated my mirror and wardrobe in your mind and then you saw them disappear in your dream and now you wake up to accuse me of what I don’t know”
“Honey, I know what I’m saying. This mirror and wardrobe weren’t here when you disappeared”
“I didn’t disappear for crying out loud! Please I’m going to bed. Keep standing there and talking rubbîsh.
When you are done talking, you can come to bed” Frank said and laid on the bed.
“Okay! If it’s rubbîsh I’m talking, then I need to confirm it. I need to see what you are hiding in this mirror that you said I shouldn’t look at” I said and quickly rush to the mirror and look at myself in it. What I saw sent goosebumps and sudden coldness covering my body.
