“What?” Linda shouted looking surprised.She didn’t know what to say
“Stop playing around,I have caught up with you red handed,tell me the truth or pack now and leave my house” James replied,he was very angry but didn’t allow emotions carry the better part of him
“My husband trust me,I don’t know how I managed to be pregnant but all I can tell you,I have never and I will never sleep with any man except you” she said trying to plead for mercy however the situation was out of control now
James carried her suitcase,then he kicked open the wardrobe and removed the clothes she had hanged then threw it into the suitcase.Linda was now shedding tears
She didn’t know what else to do.How could she even convince the husband that she had never slept with any man since they got married? It was complicated for her, she just stared as her marriage was being torn apart by a mysterious baby
“Leave my house right now! I can’t stay with a person who wants to lie” James shouted throwing the suitcase outside the room
“Please!! Please!! ” she pleaded while kneeling down and crying but the cries fell on deaf ears
“I say leave my house now or I call the police to come and pick you up as a criminal”

“Okay,the floor is yours” James said while sitting on the king sized bed staring at Linda who was seated down on the floor crying
“First of all,I never slept with any man” she said
“Here you go again,so this days how are children born? Mmh! Please don’t play with me,say the truth or be quiet and leave my house”
“..Just listen to my case babe” she interrupted, “As I was saying,I never slept with any man what happened is that I went to visit this native doctor who lives in Migingo two months ago to seek help from him since you were almost coming home.It is said that Kilunda is one of the most powerful native doctors and I was even recommended to him by one of my friends.I wanted to go and find help so that we could have a child when you get back”
“Okay,so what happened?”
” When I got there,I met him and I explained my problem ,he then performed his rituals and gave me something to drink saying that it was for cleaning my womb and it was meant to prepare the coming of the baby”
“Okay,I don’t see how the baby, could have planted itself inside your womb”
“As I was saying after Kilunda did all that he told me to go home that I would be pregnant for you when you get back home,Now what I don’t understand is how am I even two months pregnant yet I didn’t sleep with any man.Babe I think Kilunda has the answer to this question,I believe he knows something”
“Okay so what do you suggest?” James replied,he was now feeling relaxed

“So you want us to go and visit a witch doctor claiming that he knows the reason behind you being pregnant.I mean as you can see, your story obviously doesn’t add up”

James stared at her.He was torn between two as whether to chase her out or believe her and together they uncover the mystery.Everything Linda had just said was like one old fairy tale and it was obviously a lie but he felt weak to chase her wife out of his house.
James loved Linda that he couldn’t push her out even though she was pregnant for another man.He wanted to, but something kept pulling him back
“Okay,we are going to see that native doctor of yours but we are going right now” he said
“Okay,let me have a bath then change and we can now leave”
After they had taken a shower they left.The village that the native doctor used to live was some kilometers from where they used to live therefore they had to use their Hilux to travel.James was the one behind the steering,he drove first to the center where they had breakfast before they hit the road
They got there after two straight hours of driving.Kilunda’s house was in an abandoned area.No one lived around him,the houses that could be spotted were some distance far away from where he was living
They walked in,passing through the forest into a small compound that was in the middle of a large forest.There was one small round grass touched house.Kilunda was seated outside enjoying the sun when they stormed in.
“Well look who is here” Kilunda said laughing, ” I knew you would come back after sometime seeking for the answers”
“Stop it Kilunda,stop it! What did you do with me?” Linda fired back,she was very angry
“Nothing I told you that you would be pregnant and l made you pregnant,you should be thanking me for the job well done,soon you will a mother and your husband will be a father”
“What did you do to my wife you witch!!” James shouted,he was very ready to deal with Kilunda well and square
“The concortion that she drank,cleaned her womb and made her pregnant,yes that is what happened,she will carry my baby and you can’t do anything.Inside her womb she is carrying a daughter and am warning that she shouldn’t try to remove the baby as she would never ever give birth if she tries”
The words that Kilunda was pouring out of his mouth landed into their ears piercing them.They had to take care of Kilunda’s baby,what a world.
They then travelled back home with sad faces.James knew it wasn’t the wife’s fault to try and seek help but however in the progress things got worse and they had to accept the reality and raise the baby that was yet to be born.
