Kunbi went back to her parent’s place, she decided to stay there till she was able to secure her apartment, she also had plans to relocate her boutique so that she would see less of Femi. While at her parent’s place, Kunbi became a shadow of herself. First, it was her husband’s unfaithfulness, and second, the death of her only child. She refused to eat despite her mother’s constant plea and persuasion.
Kunbi’s boutique would have run down If not for the faithfulness of her sales girls. They understood the plight of their boss and decided to help handle things well till she got back on her feet.
Gradually, Kunbi began to grow spiritually cold, she didn’t bother to read her Bible or pray. She felt God disappointed her, she felt she deserve a man who wouldn’t think of breaking her heart.
Kunbi met Christ at a tender age and was serious with Him, she obeyed every of His instructions and served Him diligently. She obeyed Him whenever He asked her not to go into a relationship with other brothers who proposed to her. She had always thought she would get married to her male best friend but when God said no, she had no choice but to obey. She believed God have the best plan for her hence, she was ready to do His will.
When Femi came into the picture, she took her time to pray and listen to all God had to say about their marriage before accepting to do life with him. Since she met Christ at a tender age and was always obeying Him when it comes to the issue of relationships, she had never been in any relationship till she met Femi.
He was her first love hence, she came to his home undefiled. Femi was surprised to meet his wife undefiled as the rough life he once lived made him believe that there were no longer virgins. That was one of the reasons he doesn’t joke with his wife, anyone who try to hurt her always had him to contend with.
A year after their wedding, Femi’s mother came to visit and was disappointed that Kunbi wasn’t pregnant. Femi’s mother began to complain and say some kind of statement words, that day, Femi stood up to his mom and asked to let them be claiming that God will answer them at the right time.
Mrs. Luis, who had closely observed her daughter for days could sense that she was pregnant. She then decides to have a heart-to-heart talk with Kunbi.
Mrs. Luis: You look pregnant, girl
Kunbi: (chuckle) Pregnant?? You are funny mom, how can I be pregnant now when I have been trying to get pregnant for almost two years without success
Mrs. Luis: when last did you see your monthly flow?
Kunbi: that should be this…., I think last month. Oh no! It didn’t come last month. Can this be true? Mom, I don’t want to have anything to do with Femi, I can’t be carrying his child.
Mrs. Luis: Will you let the devil destroy your home? Will you allow him destroy the ministry God gave to your marriage? Kunbi, I taught you how to win battles on your knees, I taught you how to take charge of your home on your knees. How come you didn’t sense that you were losing your husband? Where is your spiritual sensitivity daughter? As the gatekeeper of your home, you should know when something is about to happen in your home. You should know when the devil wants to launch an attack on your family. You are the protector of your husband and home.
Kunbi: (weeping) Mummy…….
Mrs. Luis: you keep blaming God forgetting that you lost your intimate relationship with Him after He settled you. Listen, daughter, God can allow anything to happen just to bring you back to Him, He can take away what you cherish so much. I am not saying this to justify your husband’s actions, I will handle him later. But, I need you to come back to God, come back to your Father, and take your position in your home.
Kunbi: please, pray for me mom, I am very weak, I don’t know what to say to God, I have said so many bad words to Him. I called Him a wicked God.
Mrs. Luis: once you have realized your wrong deeds, just ask for forgiveness. He is always ready to accept His children back.
