???? The Fallen Angel Chapter Three:
“You mean you are a fallen angel like in the bible?”
“Yes, I am.” She replied firmly.
I started laughing.
“Tell me you are a witch.” I said. “Do you know what a fallen angel is? Stop talking abou things that are too big for you. Fallen angels are ancient spiritual beings that were exiled from heaven thousands of years ago when they tried to fight against God.”
“Yes, I was there. You cannot understand.” She said.
“Of course, I cannot understand. In fact, I refuse to understand. The only reason why I am even still talking to you is because I intend to get explanations in relation to the mysterious happenings in my house last night.”
“Let me tell you this. I was there when the battle took place, thousands of years ago. I have beheld the face of heaven. Oh!! Such a beautiful place. It is so beautiful that I lack words to explain or to describe it. I have been to the place where all mankind is struggling to go. I have been there.” She said.
I was beginning to take her seriously.
“Even if I choose to believe you, though I am having a hard time to, all I see is a young lady; a young and beautiful lady. You don’t look ancient to me. So what are you really talking about?” I asked.
“This lady you see is just a body. My spirit is older than you can imagine.” She replied.
“You say you have no parents, brothers and sisters. How did you come into existence?” I asked, bewildered.
“I got this body from a lady who had recently died. She herself was married to a see king. However, just like me, she had come to this world to explore the life of humans. She ended up falling in love with a man. The see king could tolerate her loving a human. However, there was a boundary. She was not supposed to have children. She ended up having three children for the human. The see king had no other option but to kill her.” She narrated.
“This story you are telling me, is it real or are you making it up?” I asked.
“It is real. Do you know that small stream we all cross on our way to school?” She asked.
“Of course, I do.”
“Have you ever come to this school at night?” She asked.
“Yes, when I have something important that I must finish before the next day.” I replied.
“What do you experience when you come across the stream?”
“A heavy sound as if there is a waterfall there.” I said.
“You are right.” She said and continued. “That ordinary stream that you see in the day is something different at night. At night, it is a whole river; a big and scary river. You can’t see it with your normal eyes. All you can hear is the sound. That is the sea king’s gateway to this world. That is where the lady whose body I have now got into this world.”
“How about your face? Can’t people recognize you as her?” I asked.
“Nope, they can’t. I changed the face and please, don’t ask me how. By now, should have been able to know that I am not your mate.”
I was now convinced that she was indeed no ordinary human. Everyone in town knew the story about the beautiful lady who died and left her husband. It was widely rumoured that she was a spirit from the underworld. This was because of her extraordinary beauty and the fact that she refused to age. However, no one had enough evidence to implicate her. My student now had given me the back story of the whole thing.
“So why did you come to my house last night in such a frightful form?” I asked. I was a bit scared but didn’t show it.
“I came to pay you back for beating and humiliating me in front of everybody. I actually intended to kill you.” She said, boldly.
“So, what stopped you from killing me.” I asked.
“You showed courage. I have killed before. However, most of my victims always begged for their life before I gave the final blow that sent them to the world below. I love it when a victim begs. It makes me feel powerful. However, in your own case, it was different. You fought back viciously, both physically and spiritually. That intrigued me. You seemed to me like a worthy opponent. So, I decided to spare you last night and postpone the fight to another night.” She explained.
“Yes, I was able to fight back physically. But I don’t understand what you mean by me fighting back spiritually. I am just a human and do not possess any real spiritual powers.” I wanted her to explain.
“That little prayer you made to God helped saved your life. You indirectly fought a spiritual battle without knowing.” She revealed.
“Does it mean that you will be coming to my house again this night to finish me off?” I asked and this time, I could not hide the fear on my face.
“No, I won’t as long as you never beat me in school again. By the way, I noticed that you live alone. You must be a lonely man who needs company. All you do is solve Math and beat children.”
“Well, I live alone for now.” I said. “But I intend to change that soon.” I said.
“You are a handsome man, Sir. I think we could be friends. I will like to pay a normal visit to your house. What will you be doing on Sunday?” She asked.
“I will be home all day, as soon as I get back from church.” I said.
“I will visit you, Ok? Now, teacher, permission to go back to class.” She said.
“Permission granted.” I said.
I was now standing by the door and moved a step away as she walked past to make her exit.
“Do not be afraid teacher, you are a great man. I will see you on Sunday, and remember our conversation is strictly confidential.”
She deliberately brushed her body against mine, went out of my office and back to the classroom.
