Wayne had the knife over June’s face, prepared to scar her face when the door open and Teresa along with Damian walk into the room.
“What are you doing to her!” Teresa scream and immediately, Wayne made to escape by using the window when Damian drew him back, slamming him hard against the wall.
“Let me go! Let go of me!” He shrieked out alarmingly but Damian was so furious.
Damian pounded his fist on Wayne’s face, multiple of times. Pushing him on the floor to give him a kick which got him clutching his stomach in pain.
Wayne notice his pocket knife and was about to reach for it when Damian step on his hand, trying to crush it.
Wayne’s scream filled the room and he was still clutching onto his hand when Damian pick up a chair, prepared to smash it on him but Teresa scream stop him.
“She’s unconcious, we need to get her to the hospital”
Throwing the chair away, Damian went back to an unconcious June while Wayne use the opportunity to run away.

June woke up to find herself in an unknown room. She made to sit up but felt a strong pain from her rib region.
She must have groan out in pain cause it got Ruth, Teresa and Nathan by her bed side.
“What happen?” June ask softly.
“You’ve been unconscious for three days…how about you stay still until we get the doctor ” Ruth rush out, pressing the emergency button while Nathan went to get the doctor.
Some time later and after the doctor had check on her, June told Nathan to help her sit up even though it hurt her rib cage.
“Tell me everything that has happen for the past three days” June requested and immediately, Teresa began spilling the whole thing.
” When they brought you in three days ago, they had to perform surgery and after surgery you had fallen into a deep sleep. Wayne is still being looked for by the police though I wish I get to find him first and kill him” Teresa said intensely.
“I feel the same” Nathan said.
“Don’t worry sweetie, you don’t have to be scared anymore. Damian has assured me that he will keep you safe and unharm” Ruth told her daughter.
“But you don’t get along with Damian, just that night you were telling me to stay away from him” June reminded, her face pale.
“Well things have change sis” Nathan said, a smile on his face.
“What has change?” June ask but Ruth, Teresa and Nathan kept quiet, the three of them starring at each other.
“Are you keeping something from me?” June ask just as the nurse came in to check her vitals.
“You will need a lot of bed rest and you need to use the drug prescribe by the doctor. Since your husband isn’t here, am sure your family will relate all this instruction to….”
“What did you just say?” June cut in, starring at the nurse.
“About the prescription?”
“No, you mention something about…a husband?” June said and immediately, the nurse smiled at her.
“You married your long time fiance, congratulations ” the nurse said as Nathan butt in, walking the nurse out of the room.
“What did that nurse mean?”
“June, you need to calm down and….”
“Explain things to me, mom!” June said, her voice rising.
“When you got out of surgery three days ago, I agreed to let you get married to Damian since it’s the only way you can be protected. Trust me my child, I did it for your own good” Ruth said.
“We did everything thinking about you, June” Teresa added.
“By getting me married without my consent! ” June yell, hurt by their action.
“Sis, don’t be mad. Mom only did it thinking about your well being” Nathan put in.
“You all weren’t thinking of me! How can you agree to a marriage without my consent!” She yell more louder this time.
“They were thinking of you when they accepted my proposal” Damian spoke from the doorway and all eyes fell on him as he walk in.
“Can you give us some time alone” Damian said and reluctantly, they all left leaving the newly wedded couple alone.
“It’s all a lie right? I can’t possibly be married to you” June ask.
“It’s not a lie. We really are married” he said, showing her the ring on his finger and indicating hers too, something June didn’t notice when she woke up.
She stared at the ring on her finger and stared at her husband.
“I can’t believe you will stoop so low as to use a fragile time to get what you want! I already told you that I can’t get married to you but you went ahead with it, not caring about my feeling!”
“Well, this marriage is void and I want a divorce” she added, trying to pull off the ring but Damian took hold of her hand, stopping her from doing it.
“Listen to me! Everything didn’t happen the way you think” he said, forcing her to stare at him.
“After your surgery, your mom was so worried that she ended up a patient in one of the ward….she kept blaming herself for what happen to you and her greatest fear was that Wayne will return to hurt you more”
“You are right , I saw it as an opportunity. An opportunity I took to protect you and put your mother mind at ease, I told you about the marriage proposal and assured her that your safety will always be my first priority and she agree to our marriage ”
“A marriage which took place the next day after your surgery. Our plan is for Wayne to know you are my wife and stay away….no one wanted to hurt you, we only wanted to protect you” he finish and by then June’s anger had subside.
She pulled her hand out of his and stared at her ring before asking him.
“Apart from wanting to protect me and being attracted to me, what else do you feel for me? Nothing….you feel nothing and that’s why our marriage will never work cause we don’t love each other”
“Does a marriage have to be base on love?” Damian ask
“It does! There have got to be love between us but we don’t feel that, our marriage is bound to be a disaster, it’s never going to work!” June said, pulling off the ring to throw it away.
“Go away! I don’t want to see you, leave!” Her scream must have been loud cause everyone came rushing in, including the nurse who told Damian to leave so he will stop upsetting the patient.
The nurse injected something into her drip bag and June fell asleep in no time.
