???? Pregnant For My Husband’s Driver CHAPTER THIRTY FOUR: ????
“Chief Ambrose, what are talking about?”. Doctor Nora in her drizzling state, asked. Genevieve looked steadily at them.
“This is Derek Apollo, your son. The one you abandoned for your husband because he left you to marry a second wife. Nora, you left this boy when he was only three months old! You never came back to check up on him! I thought you were dead!”. Chief Ambrose roared unsympathetically.
“What’s going on here? Apollo is your son?”. Genevieve was taken-aback.
“His name is Derek, we just love calling him Apollo because he behaves like his grandfather when he was alive. Apollo is his grandfather’s name”. Ambrose explained. He adjusted his walking stick and gazed at Nora bitterly. Nora moved slowly to Apollo’s bed, bent down gently and held his hand. Tears fell.
“My son?”. Nora wept. She remembered the past. The recalled the ill treatment she got from her ex-husband, Apollo’s father. She remembered how he cheated. She remembered how true and hardworking she was and he took it all for granted. She recalled the pains she went through when she was carrying Apollo. She recalled how countless times she was beaten in pregnancy. To her then, money wasn’t anything. She lacked love, care and attention. She remembered when she gave birth and exactly three months, she dropped the baby and ran for dear life. She knew it wasn’t right. She knew her health was at risk. Before her at the moment was her own son on a dying bed, battling with his life.
“This is not happening!”. Doctor Nora broke down. She wept sore. Genevieve couldn’t control her tears and shock. Chief Ambrose stood unmovable with his head high.
“This is not happening! Can someone wake me up!”. Nora howled emotionally. The heavy flow of tears have washed away her beautiful face powder. She didn’t let Apollo’s hands go. She couldn’t believe it was son dying before her.
“I did wrong, yes! But it’s hunting me! Ahhhh!”. She dropped on the bare floor sobbing uncontrollably.
