???? Pregnant For My Husband’s Driver CHAPTER THREE: ????
Westley returned at night. The joy seeing me was overwhelming. We got lost in each other’s arms. He asked numerous questions about my wellbeing. There in the parlour, we acted Nollywood in its romance. The driver stood at the main entrance door with Westley’s luggage staring angrily at him.
“You can leave those things there, I will take it from there”. Westley told Apollo, thereby discharging him. Westley lifted me off my feet and took me to the master bedroom. Apollo looked till we were out of sight. I could see the jealousy in his eyes. I could smell the hatred in his looks. I pushed his thoughts off my mind and had a memorable time with my husband.
“I missed you greatly, Honey”. I whispered in his ears as he wrapped me in his warm hug. He pecked my forehead and lowered his cheek on my head.
“It was just a month and three weeks. It’s not like the usual. I’m sorry, Dear. But the news has changed now. The company has got a branch here in Abuja and I’ve assigned to manage it”. Westley’s smiles were contagious. I got up and jumped on him happily.
“That means no more travelling for too long?”. I asked smiling broadly.
*Yes, no more!”. He nodded. I thought I was happy until the thoughts of the pregnancy clouded me again. My mood changed. But I didn’t want him to get a clue so I acted happy. I acted undisturbed. That night, I woke Westley up to make me feel like a woman but he murmured as usual. That is something I hardly talk about. Westley’s ceaseless complaints of tiredness whenever he returns. If he wants it at all, he gets it for himself leaving me unsatisfying.
“Sweetheart, you know I’m tired. I had a long day out there. Please let me take some rest”. He turned away and slept off. This has been his behaviour since after our wedding but due to the luxury I live in, I don’t noise it outside neither have I complained to my mother nor friends. Outside, people use our marriage as a typical illustration of a blessed home but hardly do they know my plight.
As I sat up on the bed, I silently wept for the shame I have brought my marriage. I love Westley and I can’t lose him, still I can’t get rid of the pregnancy because it has been my prayers for over ten years of marriage.
