I went to sleep that night but I couldn’t,My mind was focused on disciplinary committee, they would obviously embarrass me and send me on suspension for God knows how long and there was no way I could miss for that meant I would be expelled.
The following day I went out to have a work and at least show that I am brave.Everywhere I passed students and Lecturers stood watching as I was walking,each one of them whispering.
That day I felt embarrassed so I went back to the house and had a nap upto around 8:00 pm.Dalia was seated on a plastic chair at the corner eating supper when I woke up.I gathered myself and ate then went back to sleep but I couldn’t,my thoughts were on the next day and the judgment that the committee would make.
Early the following day after I had already taken a bath and dressed I walked to the school premises to attend to the committee meeting.
I had arrived on time so I sat at a wooden bench that was outside the offices as the leaders kept arriving.Twenty minutes later,they invited me to get in.
The discussion was very hot for sure and it was turning against me.Mr Lennox was also around and he looked at me straight into the eyes as he bravely constructed lies.I couldn’t stare at him anymore so I just bent my head downwards.
The decision was finally made,I was going to be suspended for two good years and I would return back so that the committee can determine my future in the university.
I had left the room broken,what am I going to tell my mum? What about the villagers in Kuresoi,what were they going to say about me? How will my mother feel I tried seducing a lecturer? Series of unanswerable questions were flowing through my mind.
I went straight to the house and packed my things.Dalia was surprised as to why I was packing my clothes and why I was in a hurry.I removed the letter from my handbag and gave it to her.

“ But at least leave tomorrow,just have a rest”
“I am ashamed Dalia,I have to go”

We got out out of the house and locked the door.She helped me carry the luggages and I took a bodaboda that led me to town.
I never branched,I went directly to the stage and booked a matatu that was heading to Nakuru.The PSV was empty when I got in so I had to wait for almost an hour before it was full.Finally we left for my homeland,I missed home but also I didn’t know how I was going to explain to my mum everything.
