Phyna was lying in the pool of her blóód fighting for her life with her last strength. Already, she was half déád. Worst still, none of her housemates have come back home. And from the look of things, they would be spending the night away from home.
Ify and Jenny actually went to a Houseparty in Lagos island. Phyna would have joined them if not for the appointment she had with another client that night. That was why she stayed back home waiting for the appointment time.
Meanwhile, Lizzy left the house to the airport not too long before Jenny left the house. She had a business appointment to catch up in Ghana. Her flight would be leaving in the evening. So Lizzy had to hurry up so as to be in the airport ahead of time. She went to the airport with Uber.
But unfortunately, after hours of waiting, Lizzy still missed her flight. The whole thing happened like a film. Not that she didn’t meet up on time. She came on time and didn’t go anywhere.
But…..
Lizzy was walking through a tiny lonely path. She was heading to the stream. As the owls and insects chorused.
Lizzy was all alone along the path. There was no single sign of humans. She was in a hurry so that darkness wouldn’t meet her on the way. She was panicking as well. So she whistled to keep away from the panic.
Lizzy held her pot so tightly. It was a pot made of clay.
Along Lizzy’s journey, she saw a flame emanating from the nearby bush. She observed and behold it was a bush burning down at great speed. The mystery of the burning bush that got Lizzy perplexed was that the burning bush was made up of pure green leaves.
‘How could a bush made up with green leaves be burning? How is that possible?,’ Lizzy asked herself as she made way to the scene to see whether her eyes were deceiving her.
On getting to the scene, it happened that her eyes were actually telling her the truth. The burning bush was made up of pure green leaves. Therefore, Lizzy was full of surprise.
‘What a mystery. What could be the problem?..,’ Lizzy was still asking when she heard a cry for help.
‘Help!

The voice was that of a young lady. And the voice was so familiar to Lizzy.
Meanwhile, the cry for help was coming from the center of the burning bush. Lizzy carefully observed and behold it was a young lady that was tied to a tree and was being consumed by fire.
And the voice looked exactly like that of Phyna.

Lizzy, with a trembling voice, shouted her name on top of her voice.
The victim was actually Phyna but she had been burnt beyond recognition. Although she managed to answer her.

Without wasting any much time, Phyna swung into action on the verge of saving Phyna’s life.
It was the moment Lizzy was about to jump into the fire to save Phyna that she woke up from sleep.

After plying her drowsy eyes open, Lizzy was totally shocked. She quickly inquired about her flight. But unfortunately, her flight had taken off. The whole thing was like a Nigerian film to her. In fact, it was as if someone used a çhárm on her. Because the way the whole thing happened within an hour was a big mystery. Because she had been waiting patiently for the boarding all this while, then when it was about thirty minutes for them to board, boom, the mysterious sleep came from nowhere. The rest was history.
Lizzy protested all to no avail. She then had to go home very angry and disappointed all together. Her flight was rescheduled to take off the following day.
Lizzy took Uber home.
On getting home that evening, the door was bolted from the inside making it impossible for her to use her own key to open it outside. She knocked several times but no one answered her. She placed a call across to Jenny on the phone but Jenny told her that she left Phyna at home.
Lizzy quickly placed a call to Phyna but she wasn’t picking up her calls. She gave her more than twenty missed calls to no avail.
She became worried, praying that nothing bad should happen to Phyna. As the dream had started recurring in her head every now and then. Panic had gripped her also.
When Lizzy had exhausted all available means, she began to alert the neighbors. In a twinkling of an eye, people had gathered. Then, the door was forced open.
The state at which Phyna was found was not something to write home about. She was literally déád. They had to rush her to the hospital with immediate effect for treatment. Already, people had started crying, thinking she was déád. Many who saw her still breathing were not convinced that she would survive it.
Phyna was actually póîsóñéd. And the póîsóñ had eaten her so deep. As such, the first hospital rejected her after she had spent two days In the hospital.
Phyna was described as a walking déád.
Lizzy had to take Phyna to another hospital but the hospital still rejected her on arrival. Lizzy became very downcast. As she doesn’t know what to do next. She cried her eyes out as she watched Phyna dyîñg In her hands.
Finally, Lizzy was left with no option than to contact Femi. She used Phyna’s phone to call him and informed him of Phyna’s health condition.
Femi came with immediate effect. He didn’t waste any time. He had to abandon all his business engagements. Then Phyna was rushed to one of the best hospitals in Lagos island for treatment.
The doctors and nurses swung into action. Phyna was transferred to the intensive care unit. She was given supportive care to stabilize her heart, blood pressure, and breathing until the poison disappears or is inactivated.
