“N-no, thanks.” She said, trying to control herself from what she was feeling. The cupcakes indeed looked delicious, it’s pink whipped and cream with sprinkles on top was endearing.
“Taste it.” He insisted. He aligned the cupcake and slowly neared it to her.
Giselle couldn’t do anything but let him feed her. Her eyes widened as she was surprised on how delicious it was, it was baked perfectly.
The neighbors suddenly clapped their hands as they were in awe on what Felix did. “You two look good together.” Their neighbor said.
“How come I didn’t see you back then Felix? Giselle, you’re lucky.’
Giselle swallowed the cupcake immediately as her eyes widened and her face blushed red in shock. “N-no!” She denied as she waved her hands to the woman. “We’re not a could!”
“It’s okay Giselle.” the old lady said. “Why are you still denying it? Felix is such a nice guy.” They all laughed and agreed on what the old lady said. One of them pinched Felix’s cheeks and he chuckled.
“We’re really not! I.. I’m just helping him..” she said.
Their neighbors didn’t believe them until Felix spoke. He chuckled first and said. “We’re really not a couple, she’s just helping me regain my memories back.”
“Ahhh~” they said in chorus. “I’ll just buy some more.” One of them said and they all agreed.
Giselle smiled on their overwhelming response.
About ten minutes after, the cupcakes were sold out and the neighbors Sai they’ll visit again tomorrow for more. They all leftovers, Felix and Giselle closed the gate and placed the table back inside. Felix’s had a sigh of relief. “At last, it’s finished.” He said as he laughed.
“I know.” She chuckled
“Hm, how much did we earn?” He asked himself as he grabbed the huge amount of money from his pocket. They both sat at the same time on the counter as they slowly counted the money. They were getting shock every second on how huge the amount was. “Wow, we should do this more often.”
“Yes, I’ll help you then.”
“Here.” He said in a serious tone. He handed out the money to her.
“What’s this?”
“I’m sorry.. but I saw your bills and..I thought of helping you.” He muttered
“Felix..” She said shyly and pushed his hand back and said. “No keep it. You made those cupcake and sold them.”
“But..”
“I’ll just help you tomorrow and there I can probably share the money earned with you.” She said with a smile. Felix nodded as he smiled. “Hm, you know where you can spend that money?”
“Where?”
“Haircut.” She laughed. “And some clothes.”
“That’s a good idea.”
“It’s Saturday tomorrow, so I’ll accompany you if you want.” She said. Felix agreed.
Suddenly someone knocked on the door, she got off and asked, “Who is it?” No response. She walks forward and opened the door. Her heart skipped a lot and her body froze for a moment.
It was her Mom.
Giselle’s POV
“Mom?” I said as I walked out of the door and closed it. “What are you doing here?”
“Who’s that?” She asked as she raised her eyebrows. It gives me chills whenever I see her doing that. It kind of instill fear on me.
“W-who?” I stuttered as I looked back
“That man.” She looks to the side and suddenly pushes me to the side and open the door.
“Mom~” I said trying to stop her by holding her wrist, but it’s too late. I ran to her front and sees her eyes widen. My heart starts to beat fast, scared on what she will say. “He..he don’t..” she mumbles as she steps back. Her body slightly shaking. I don’t know if she’s in the state of shock or mad at her. It is evident on her face that she can’t believe that a man is literally living with me.
“Mom, we’re just friends.” I try to explain. I don’t want her to misunderstand why he is here in this hour.
Suddenly she mumbles a name that I couldn’t figure out. “Who are you?”
I look back and sees Felix standing beside the couch. He was stiff and quite surprised too. He opened his mouth and say. “I..I’m Felix Ma’am.”
“Why are you here?” She asked.
I wanted to stop by from asking him questions. I know Felix is not in the right position to answer. “Mom..”
“I’m not talking to you Giselle.” She cuts in.
I anxiously looked at Felix and sees him clenching hid fist, feeling scared and intimidated. At this time, I wanted to defend him. I know it’s wrong to lie to Mom but I had to.
“I’m here to visit her.” Felix said
My eyes widened as that was what I was supposed to say, and surprisedly Mom believed him. Mom can tell when one is lying but how come she believed him. She exhaled with her eyes closed maintaining her posture.
“I’m sorry Felix.” She said softly as she shows a forced smile. “I’ve mistaken you for someone else. Please do live as soon as you’re done with your business with my daughter. Her neighbors are quite into gossip nowadays and I don’t want her image to be tarnished.”
“Yes Ma’am.” He said politely.
“I’ll get going now.” she smiles once again to Felix.
