“Won’t you apologize to her?” Harlan asked coldly and the others glared at him wondering what his reply was going to be.
He was silent for a while then he says, “It would be off no use,since I had nothing to do with her and besides,she spilled coffee on me” they all dropped speechless and irritated with his reply.
Cyrus sighed and walked away – the others left and Harlan still stood with him.
“Is this about Hailey?” He asked and sighed.
“She broke your heart,yeah but not everyone’s the same and you don’t have to let pain change you”
“It has already” Lucian muttered.
“You can’t remain like this forever and don’t let people mistake you for a monster” Harlan said before walking away and he sighed deeply.
Jane gave Hope a ride to her home and she stepped out of the car.
“Thanks alot” Hope smiled and Jane chuckled.
“Please quit thanking me” Jane mused and Hope smiled thinly.
“What are friends for? And make sure you get up early coz I’m coming to pick you up” Jane said.
She smiled again and didn’t know how to really thank Jane.

“Uh- Uh- don’t thank me” Jane cuts her short and she chuckled softly.
“And don’t think about that monster who hurt you,okay?” She said and Hope nodded stiffly.
“Bye” Hope took a step backward as Jane started the car.
“Bye” Jane smiled back as she drove away and Jane smiled thinly as she stepped forward to the door.
9:00PM – MCCALL’S RESIDENCE.
“You’re home late” came a cold voice and Jane snapped to her left only to see her Brother leaning with his shoulder resting on the wall.
“So?” She interjected and he looked at his wristwatch.
“Where are you coming from?” Lucian sounded more serious as he move close to her.
Her eyes glared into his cold eyes – she’s not even a inch scared of him and he knows it.
“I’ll ask again” he said darkly.
“Where are you coming from?” His eyes impatiently beaming with at her – he wanted a quick answer.
She still kept silent as she glared into his eyes without blinking.
“What if I say-” she smirked. “What if I say that I don’t know” she smirked again and then he scoffed.
She’s a medicine for him – he’s cold hearted and she’s crazily his worst nightmare even being brother and sister.
“Well… I rode a new friend of mine home” she smirked.
“A new friend?”
“Yeah… you got any problems with that?” His eyes glances from her head down to her toe and back up to her head.
“That wasn’t necessary” she muttered before walking out on him – he watched her go up the stairs.
“You seem different” Mr Michealson said and she looked at him.
He has been staring at how she was happily eating the jollof rice on the dinning table.
“Mm” she mumbled.
“Let me guess,you had a great day today at school” he said and Hope dropped her spoon to have a cup of water.
“Well…” she smirked as she poured water into the cup. “It wasn’t all that great but I made a new friend”
“Finally” he muttered and she pizzled her face. “What’s his name?” And she puzzled the more.
“Oh dad” she laughs softly. “She’s a girl not a guy” she said in sarcasm.
“Oh” her dad chuckled slightly. “I was really hoping for a guy”
“Well… you hoped wrongly and her dad frowns.
She focused on her rice and when she found out the sudden silent on her dad and the frown on his face she paused.
“Dad?” She said. “Are you okay?” She asked confused and he sighs.
“You never had a male friend” he replied sadly – his gaze at the food went up to her face and her faces became sad – she suddenly lost appetite as the scene of getting slapped by the one she loves at school.
“Honey?” Her father noticed her sadness and the worried look in her eyes.
“Honey?” He calls her honey when she’s sad – she suddenly pushed the dinning chair backward as she stood up and she left leaving her dad alone.
“Oh God” he sighs. “I shouldn’t have said that” she hates it when he brought up the topic of her not having any male friends.
“Why where you home late?” Mrs Aurora asked Jane and she shot a cold glare at Lucian. He told them about her coming home late.
“Argh! He can’t keep him mouth shut” she muttered lowly.
“What was that?” Mr McCall asked as he heard her mutter something barely audible.
Mr McCall is their dad.
“Oh” she snapped at her dad. “I didn’t say anything” and Lucian shot his glares at her – he knows that she said something that he didn’t hear.
“Mom asked you you a question,care to reply” Lucian said in a smirk – his cold eyes staring at her cursing eyes.
“Well… I was gonna reply that.” She replied glaring at him.
“Jane!” Mrs Aurora said impatiently and she snapped back at her.
“Sorry mom.” She apologized and Lucian chuckles slightly.
“Why where you home late?” She asked again.
“I rode a new friend of mine home” Jane replied and Lucian was eager to know who her new friend was because she hardly has any new friend. She makes friend with crazy girls.
