“Boss” Stanley walk into the sitting room to find Ashton laying on the sofa, a glass of whiskey in his hand.
“Have been calling you for hours now? There are meetings and people for you to….what’s going on?” Stanley ask, noticing the dejected look on his face.
“Turns out have been an @ss to someone” He said softly.
“Don’t tell me that Fannie Grey daughter is yours?” Stanley ask, guessing the problem himself.
“Triplets not daughter”
“She had triplets?” Stanley ask more shock.
“Yeah. Two girls and one boy. They are all very cute and they look like me, I don’t need a DNA to prove that they are my kids”
“Oh Good Lord! When I told you to go see her daughter yesterday, I didn’t expect this outcome. So, what do you plan to do?” Stanley ask as Ashton sat up.
“Nothing”
“Nothing? You don’t want to try to get to know your children?”
“I want to. I want to know them but Stephanie won’t let me and I don’t blame her, I was cruel to her when she came to see me that day, I even called my kids bastard. I’m such an @ss” Ashton said, ruffling his hair.
“Ever since I know you, I never thought you to be a coward. Yes, you were wrong and now that you know the truth, you should do your best to make things work. If it’s getting Fannie’s forgiveness then do it , don’t just stay lock up here feeling miserable” Stanley said his mind for once.
“You do realize that you are talking to your boss?” Ashton ask, reminding him.
“I am and I don’t care. If you let Fannie and your children leave without doing a thing then you will lose the great respect I have for you” Stanley told him and that got Ashton smiling.
“You are right! I should do my best to try to be in my children’s life even though their mother hates me” Ashton said, putting his glass down.
“That’s it boss! But don’t you intend to make things right between you and Fannie? You two will make a lovely couple” Stanley tease.
“I don’t see that ever happening, Stephanie hates me and I….” Ashton pause wondering what he thinks about Stephanie.
“You what?”
“I don’t think there’s a possibility of us ever being together cause I feel nothing for her” Ashton said, trying to convince himself with this fact.
“Fine then. If that’s how you feel and I think you should know that Stephanie plans to leave the city this afternoon, their flight will be taking off by three which is just half an hour away” Stanley inform.
“What! Why didn’t you tell me that first!” Ashton half yell, picking up his phone to make a call.
“For the first time in a while, you are calling me first” Lucas Maverick, Ashton grandfather said.
“That’s because I need your help”
“That depends on the kind of help you want”
“This has to do with your grandchildren”
“Grand what?”
“Your grandchildren. I don’t have time to explain but if you don’t want them to leave and never come back, I’d advice you to use all the influence you have in the world to stop the New York plane from taking off by three ” Ashton told him.

“Common, stop being angry. I only brought them because they miss you” David said to a angry Stephanie as they were all seated at the waiting lounge.
Susan had the attention of the triplets while David keep pestering Stephanie to forgive him since she wasn’t talking to him.
“There’s no harm bringing them here, right? ” David said again.
“There’s no harm? You have no idea what you’ve done by bringing them here!” Stephanie said, losing her cool.
“You keep saying that! Tell me exactly what have done by bringing them here?” David said too, getting angry himself.
“Calm it down you two. Remember you are a public figure” Susan remind, making them aware of the people in VIP lounge taking pictures of them.
????️ “Attention everyone. This is a message to inform the New York passengers that the flight will be delayed due to some circumstance. We are sorry for the inconvenience but we hope you all bear with us”
“Delayed until when?” Susan said as others in the room began complaining.
“We can’t stay here for another hour” Stephanie mutter getting up.
“I will go talk to the management” she said ignoring David call for her to stop.
She was almost at the entrance when she collide into someone.
“Oh my gosh! Am sorry” Stephanie said quickly when she saw that it’s an old man she collide into.
“Are you okay?” Stephanie ask.
“I feel a bit tired but I will be fine. If you don’t mind, can you find me somewhere to seat for a while” Lucas Maverick said and immediately, Stephanie took him to her seat.
While Susan and David went to get them something to drink, Stephanie and the children stayed with the old man.
Stephanie couldn’t help but to notice him watching her kids with deep interest.
“Are they yours?” Lucas ask.
“They are”
“Nice to meet you sir, I am Faye and this is my brother Fredrick and my sister Fiona” the outgoing Faye said, doing the intro.
“Nice to meet you three lovelies, if you don’t mind, may I give them a hug. They just look so cute” Lucas said, the urge to hold his grandchildren overwhelming him.
Stephanie thought it weird too but she gave him the permission to do it.
She watch the old man pull the three kids into his arms.
“You haven’t told us your name, sir” Fiona said a bit shy.
“My name? That’s right, pardon my manners. I am Lucas Maverick at your service”
As soon as Stephanie heard the name Maverick, she stood up.
“Lucas Maverick? You must be Ashton Father”
“Grandfather. You see am here on behalf of Ashton and also, I wanted to see my grandchildren” Lucas said a smile appearing on his face.
“Am sorry but we are leaving. Faye, Fredrick, Fiona, let’s go” Stephanie said, pulling her kids toward her.
“I think it’s too late for you to leave. Their father is here” Lucas told her as Ashton approach them with Stanley firmly behind him.
” We need to talk, Stephanie”
“I have nothing to say to you”
“I knew you were going to say that. Grandfather, Stanley I trust you two can take care of my kids till we return?” Ashton said and they both gave a nod.
“Return? What do you mean by return?” Stephanie ask but he ignored her and knelt in front of the triplets.
“Am sorry guys but I will have to take Mommy with me. I don’t want to hurt her, I only want to talk. Am not a bad man” he said, ruffling Fredrick’s hair and smiling at the girls.
Then he stood up and lift Stephanie over his shoulders.
“There’s no way am letting you leave Australia with my kids” he said to a struggling Stephanie before walking out of the waiting area……
