I decided to check the message for her. I unlocked her phone and saw the message. I blinked twice as to be sure I was seeing clearly. The message says.
GOOD MORNING SWEETHEART.
I was confused at that moment and didn’t know what to do. “Who could this guy be”. I thought.
The sender has no name it was just a number. I heard her come out of the bathroom and I quickly dropped her phone.
She came smiling at me. “You are not done eating your food.” She asked.
I just nodded and rushed on my food even though I had lost my appetite. I didn’t even feel like going to school again.
I wanted to ask her but I decided it could wait later.
Throughout the first period till the third period I haven’t been myself I kept thinking of the message.
Could she be cheating on me. Many thoughts keep running through my head when the bell for short break rang bringing me back from my world of thoughts.
Mark wasn’t in school today so I had my peace. Well some of his boys were in school but they dear not come near me without Mark’s order.
Immediately the school bell jingled for the closing of school for that day. I took my bag and ran towards the gate of the school as if something was chasing after me.
I needed to ask Stella who that person was. I can’t let curiosity eat me up like this. I went to her place of work and they told me she never came.
But I could remember she told me she was going to work today. I began to get really upset. How could she lie to me.
Then I immediately rushed home. When I got home. I could hear noises in the house.

I could hear a guy’s voice shouting and Stella talking back to him.
I angrily and fearfully opened the door.
I met Stella and the guy I don’t know staring at me.
I could see Stella eyes were swollen from too much crying.
The anger that rushed through me was a great one.
“What did you do to her.” I screamed at the top of my voice at the guy.
“I did nothing. I just came here asking her if we could get back together but she won’t agree with me.” He said.
“I said I don’t love you anymore. Why do you keep stalling me. Micheal leave me alone okay. You even sent me a text message this morning for what. Am done with you. I now have a boyfriend and that’s him right there.”
Micheal laughed as if all that had just happened was just a comedy.
“Young man pls leave before I pounce on you right now.” I said.
He didn’t budge he just stood staring at me as if I was a TV program.
“Leave”. I screamed as I ran towards him and threw a punch on his face.
The fight between the two of us became though. Stella just stood watching tell the both of us to stop.
We fought and fought. I injured him so badly that he gave up and ran out of the house.
I really don’t know were I got the strength from. But all that matters is that I protected my Girlfriend.
“Are you okay.” I asked.
“Yeah am fine. I just have a slight headache.” She said.
“Am sorry. I saw the message this morning. I should have told you about it. But my mind was clouded with anger and envy. I apologised feeling really sorry.
“It’s okay. Everything is alright now.” She said sobbing as she hugged me.
“Don’t cry; am here now. I won’t leave your side again I promise.”
