Clara was on her bed playing with a strand of her hair, she was bored. She had taken two weeks’ leave from work to be able to seek God’s face concerning her relationship with Mike. She spent the two weeks in her room playing and crying to God for a conviction about her relationship with Mike, she couldn’t get Adesuwa’s story out of her mind as it never stopped replaying in her mind. It was as if she was there with Adesuwa when everything happened.
That night after listening to Adesuwa’s story, she cried from the event center till she got home. Mike tried to cheer her up with the claim that their marriage wouldn’t end up like Adesuwa’s but Clara continued weeping. On getting home, she ignored her mother’s questions, went into the room, and locked the door immediately to prevent her mother from barging in. She woke up the following morning with a throbbing headache and had to inform her boss that she would be going on a two-week leave.
The first day of her leave, Clara laid on her bed crying to God, she wanted to be sure that being in a relationship with Mike was the right thing for her to do. It didn’t take long before the Holy Spirit asked her to break the relationship as the one Heaven has for her was close by and if care wasn’t taken, she would miss him and the end would be disastrous. Clara cried more after hearing that, she was afraid of breaking up with Mike, she had grown to love him and had built her world around him.
For days, Clara kept asking God for the grace and strength to break up with Mike but she still found it hard to break up with him, she would try to send him a breakup message but ended up deleting the message.
That particular afternoon, she was bored and tired of playing with her hair to wile away time, so she decided to go on social media to see what was happening. She logged into WhatsApp and was shocked to see everyone dropping “RIP” on Adesuwa’s picture. She pinched herself to confirm if she was not dreaming, she quickly placed a call to Ranti to confirm if Adesuwa was truly dead which Ranti affirmed to it.
Clara screamed out loud which made her mother run out to see what was happening to her daughter. Getting into her daughter’s room, she met typing with her phone. The death of Adesuwa hit Clara hard and immediately she sent a breakup message to Mike after which she took her time to explain all that had been going on to her mother. Mrs. Chika was so happy, she was happy that her daughter finally let go of Mike. When Mike came to their house that day, she loved his brilliant replies to every question she threw at him but then, she was not at peace. Later that night, she asked God to reveal what could be wrong and she got a revelation.
In that revelation, her daughter came home to her in tears saying that her husband used their first child for money ritual. In that revelation, Clara went to tell her mom that since Mike lost his job, things were never the same and to worsen the situation, he lost hope in God. When he didn’t get answers to his prayers, he decided to go for money ritual to end living from hand to mouth.
Mrs. Chika woke up with fear written all over her, from that day, she began to pray against their relationship but didn’t tell Clara what she saw because she knew her daughter would never believe her.
Even though Adesuwa told her friend not to mourn her, Ranti couldn’t help but mourn her friend. It took the support of her husband to help her go through that period. She placed a call to Adesuwa’s family informing them of their daughter’s death and sorrowfully, they came around to transport her body to the village for burial. Since Dele was a renowned man of God, Ranti was able to access him and apologized to him for how Adesuwa treated him in the past, Ranti then went on to explain that Adesuwa had passed away after being stabbed by her husband.
Dele was heartbroken when he heard that she got entangled in a bad marriage which led to her untimely death. While Ranti was explaining Adesuwa’s ordeal to him, Dele couldn’t help but shed tears as he tried to imagine the hell she went through in that marriage.
