???? For The Love Of Vivian EPISODE FOUR: ????
Lo and behold! It was someone the entire neighbourhood feared, it was Victor. A man in his late forties who never leaves his house and never smiled. A man that many assumed to be a psychopath just because he loved staying inside. He was an antisocial freak, What could he be doing there?
“Victor?”
Everyone was shocked to see him.
“Good day Aliyah, good day sir. My sincere condolences for your loss,” he said.
“I really don’t like mingling with people but I realized that it would be very wicked if I do not send my condolences.”
Everyone’s eyes were still on him as he talked. Aliyah couldn’t respond, she was still in tears.
“I heard what happened and I know the pain of losing someone dear, just stay strong,” He said.
Her husband finally spoke, “thank you sir. We really appreciate your words of encouragement.”
“It’s nothing, I’ll be taking my leave now.”
“So soon?”
“Yes, I have to go.”
He turned and was about leaving when something fell from his pocket; it was a small knife and Victor didn’t even realise what had happened.
“I think you dropped something,” Aliyah managed to say. He searched around with his eyes and when he saw the knife on the floor, he slowly picked it up. He looked tensed and he left immediately.
Everyone dismissed it to be nothing, but Aliyah kept on pondering on what had happened.
Aliyah couldn’t find rest that evening, she was no more in tears but she desperately wanted to know who had killed her child.
The fact that her daughter was found nearby made her think that whoever had done this must live around the neighbourhood.
Suddenly another thought struck her.
What if it was someone they knew? And immediately the first person her mind went to was Victor.
She ran to the bedroom to meet her husband.
“Honey! Honey!” She called breathing heavily.
“Yes, what’s the matter?”
“I think I know who killed our daughter…”
Her husband was immediately alarmed and it seemed like there was fear in his eyes.
“Ho…Ho..Honey I think you should forget about this whole thing. Our daughter is dead and gone forever, let’s at least allow the wounds in our hearts to get healed.” He said with a shaky voice.
“Honey I understand that, but the wound in my heart can’t get healed when I know that the person that did this is walking freely.”
“So how exactly do you intend to find the person, honey it will just be a waste of your precious time.”
“I don’t care,” she said boldly.
“I think I know who did this and I’ll make sure I find out.”
“So tell me, who this your ‘prime suspect’ is?” He said with a bit of quiver in his voice.
“I feel Victor has something to do with this, my instincts keep telling me so.”
“So what do you want to do? Call the police?”
“Honey the police have already failed us once, I won’t let it happen again. I want to thrust a knife deep into the heart of whoever had done this, I want to watch him beg for my mercy even as I thrust it deeper. I want to torture him, pluck out his eyes and cut off his d*CK, I want him to suffer all that my daughter suffered.”
“Honey, taking laws into your hands will only land you in jail.” Her husband said.
“I don’t mind, if killing the killer would bring me peace I won’t hesitate to do it.”
“I honestly think you have to calm down, you need to forget about this whole thing.”
She remained silent and soon walked out the bedroom, she went to the sitting room but she met her mother in law there.
Her mother in law was Laughing seriously as she was engrossed in the movie playing on the television.
Her mother in law noticed her presence, their eyes met and they immediately rolled their eyes at each other.
Aliyah and her mother in law weren’t in good terms. They were in the same house but they never spoke a word to each other.
Aliyah walked to the door, she opened it and left the house.
Aliyah had no idea what she was doing, she planned to pay Victor a visit and steal an opportunity to observe his home.
She that if Victor really had a hand in her daughter’s death, what she wanted to do would be extremely dangerous.
But a mother’s love for her child can make her do unbelievable things.
One of the new neighbours noticed her uneasiness as she walked towards Victor’s place.
“Good evening Mrs Aliyah,” she was stunned at the sound of the voice.
“Good evening Linda.” She responded.
Linda was new in the neighbourhood, she parked in barely two weeks ago.
“Are you alright ma?” Linda asked.
“Everything is fine, I just want to see someone,” She managed to say.
Aliyah walked off, at least someone has seen her, should anything happen to her at Victor’s place.
Her legs quaked as she stood before his door. Fear gripped her and her hands felt heavy, she struggled until finally pressed his doorbell.
It took more than a minute before Victor came out.
“Hey! Good evening madam,” he greeted.
“Good evening,” she muttered.
“I… I came to see you sir.”
Suddenly her eyes caught something, it was drops of red, just like blood. She traced it with her eyes and it went all the way inside.
His jacket was stained red, she looked at his hands and it was inside his jacket.
Then it dawned on her; she never should have gone there!
