” Bryan?” I called out as the glass of juice he was holding fell freely from his hand.

I stared at him in surprise…..

Why the hell is he so shocked to see me?

How come he looks rather too surprised and tensed up?

Am just coming into the house now and I wonder what could be seriously wrong with him….

“Arianna….. ” He managed to call blinking his eyes continuously.

“Yes…. Why is your face like that? What happened?” I asked

“Uhmm…. Have you been here long? When…. When…. When did you arrive ?” He asked anxiously.

“Nope…. I just came in now” I replied as he heaved a sigh of relief.

“I was just startled….. I wasn’t expecting you that’s why” He breathed heavily as I smiled.

“Oh…. Am sorry but I had something very important to tell you that is why I came to see you” I said worriedly.

“Something ? Important ? ” He asked with raised eyebrow.

“Yes… Very important” I added.

“OK fine…. Let me hear it” He said as I settled down in the sofa beside me.

“Actually I got a message this morning and the content of the message brought so much confusion into my head” I said as he looked at me puzzled.

“So much confusion how?” He asked as I cleared my throat noisily.

“Well the message says that….” I said but I was interrupted.

“Oh Marvin…. How can you be so inhuman huh? Don’t you know you should at least offer to your visitor cold drink” Derek said

I smiled at him.

“Oh please pardon my manners Arianna….What do I offer you?” Marvin asked.

“Just water….” I said as Marvin walked out of the room to get the chilled water.

I didn’t stop pondering over the message and over how Marvin reacted earlier.

He was so tensed up.

And very uneasy as well………

I think there is something fishy about this whole thing and I really need to figure it out.

I heard some footsteps and raised my head.

It was Derek.

“Oh Derek….. You startled me” I said with a smile as I pressed my phone.

“Uhmm… I know you are confused and you really want to know who sent you the message this morning” He said as I widened my eyes.

With my eye brows arched,,, I scratched my head in confusion.

“How…. How did you know about that?” I asked as he hush me with his index finger in between his lips.

“Shhhhh….. I sent that and please I won’t advice you to tell him about that for now” Derek said as I looked at him confused.

“”But why? How did…. ” I asked as I saw Marvin coming and I quickly shut my mouth up.

“Oh he’s here already with the chilled water” Derek said changing the topic as I forced a smile.

“Thank you so much for the water… Am so thirsty” I pretended as I took the water.

Derek and I stole glances at each other but we looked away immediately.

He shouldn’t suspect anything fishy.

“What was it that you wanted to tell me about?” He asked anxiously.

I gulped nervously as I scratched my head.

“Actually it’s about our wedding…. I want to know how the preparations is going” I lied as he smiled.

“I have every single thing under my control but you were talking about a message? ” He asked.

My heart skipped a beat.

Oh God!

What do I say now?

“Errr….. It was about a message from a wedding planner” I said as he nodded.

“I can not wait to have you in my arms” He said as I forced a smile at him.

“Yeah” I said with my mind still pondering on what Derek said.

“Bryan! Bryan!!” Nadia rushed in with a newspaper in her hand.

“What is it?” I asked anxiously.

“Have you seen this?” She asked handing the newspaper to me.

I took the paper sluggishly as I flipped the pages.

I saw the caption and Arianna’s picture.

I only smirked and handed it back to Nadia.

“That’s good” I said as she scoffed.

“Are you being serious here Bryan? Didn’t you see that?” She asked.

“I know about that!” I said as Nadia gasped.

“So what now?” Nadia asked as I laughed.

“Don’t bother yourself Nadia…. That wedding is not going to hold” I said as she raised her eyebrow in shock.

“What? What do you mean?” She asked anxiously.

“I just don’t want you to worry cos that…. That will never ever happen” I smirked.

“Please don’t do anything illegal” She cried out.

“Worry no more” I said as I walked away leaving her to worry.

The wedding is this weekend but that wedding will never take place as long as there is breath in me.

No one takes away what’s mine from me.

They covered the veil over my face.

I was beautifully adorned and bejeweled.

The wedding gown looked so perfect on me.

But I wasn’t myself…..

My maid of honour Gloria helped me open the car and I hopped into it.

“You look so beautiful girlfriend” She said as I forced a smile.

Mother and my siblings looked so sad in their beautiful attires.

The car speeded off.

My heart kept beating so fast!

Why has Bryan become so quiet?

Has he moved on?

I was still lost in thought when I heard Gloria scream.

The car swerved and swerved…

Fear gripped us!

“Driver please take it easy” We yelled.

It swerved and screeched to a halt and I hit my head on the car louvers so hard.

My head started aching so bad as my eyes turned.

I felt so much pain in my head that I shut my eyes ….

I held my head.

I felt my memories rushing back to my head….
